Experience again a musical treat in the unique setting of the Gendarmenmarkt in 2014. The Classic Open Air  journey through the various music genres and epochs and promises a programme, that holds a special sound experience for everyone.

The 23rdClassic Open Air-Festival will be opened by our traditional "First Night". Well-known solo artists will present excerpts from their successful repertoire. We offer a musical encounter of classical titles and highlights of film, entertainment and rock music. At the end there will be brilliant fireworks display as the start of all of the following concerts.

Classic, Show & Pop with Charm and "Frauen-Power"

About 20 renowned female artists, one concert and a lot of charm and power. At Friday night the stage on the Gendarmenmarkt belongs to the women. For the first time in 22 years Classic Open Air only female musicians, who come from different genres, will jointly create a programme. Whether vocal or instrumental - solo or in an ensemble - this concert evening will be filled by the spirit of very impressive women.

A Gala Concert of the Viennese Classic in Light and Fire

The successful Baroque Concert 2013 will follow another classical music enjoyment this year. The masters of the Viennese Classic - Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven - shaped like no other this style of European art music. Their famous instrumental works, opera arias and duets as well as Beethoven's Choral Fantasy will be visually accentuated with plays of light and fire after dark.

For centuries the Mediterranean lifestyle and the stunning landscapes of Italy inspired a wide variety of musicians to distinctive works. In our traditional Italian evening we present a varied programme with Neapolitan and Sicilian folk music, Italian serenades and songs by composers such as Tchaikovsky and Suppé from and about "Bella Italia".

Der Graf / The Counter” is the frontman and creative mastermind of the very successful German formation “Unheilig / Unholy”. “Der Graf” presents with his musicians an in the German music scene unique range of musical skills and abilities. In 2014Unheilig” will give a few selected concerts under the slogan "Alles hat seine Zeit / Everything has its time". One of these will be at the Classic Open Air, and “Der Graf” will play some old and current hits. He will introduce some new songs as well.

SCHILLER this is the German sound artist Christopher Deylen, who compresses the dreams of many to electronic music for 15 years by now. SCHILLER embarks on his latest album OPUS on a journey into the world of classical music and interweaves it with electronic sounds. He will play the closing concert of the Classic Open Air festival 2014 in collaboration with the Symphonic Pop Orchestra and famous stars and will present a selection of songs of his success story.
